One of the big questions heading into this E3 was whether Nintendo and third parties had finally come around to one another or not.
Nintendo attempted to answer this by showing the above sizzle reel of third party games coming to Wii U. The footage shows: Darksiders II, Dirt, Aliens Colonial Marines, Ghost Recon Online, Metro Last Night, Tekken, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge.
That footage certainly caused a stir when it was shown, and for good reason. Even after almost five years on the market, it’s arguable the Wii hasn’t received that level of third party support in total (at least when it comes to “core” franchises).
Having said that, the footage has also caused some controversy. It turns out the imagery wasn’t taken from software running on the Wii U, but from competing systems.
Nintendo assures that the Wii U will be capable of graphics at least as good as those shown, and it’s understandable that a system more than a year away doesn’t have any near-completed third party games running yet, but it’s an embarrassment for the company none the less.

Got something to say? Go for it!
