I’m getting fit… Wii Fit. Today, September 8th, 2011, marks my 13th day of Wii Fit-ting, which means it’s still early enough in my campaign to start a blog about my mission to tame my wild body. From here on out, I plan to make weekly updates about this adventure right here on Splodinator.
Of course, since this is my 13th Wii Fit day but my first blog post, I need to catch all y’all up. On my first day (August 27th) I had a BMI of 23.36, a weight of 154.1 lbs., and a Wii Fit Age of 37. Today, well, I have a BMI of 23.56, a weight of 155.4, and a Wii Fit Age of 33.
Not exactly a lot of progress, but I plan to ramp up from the 10-15 minutes per day I’ve been doing so far to 30 minutes.
The “Wii Fit Age” mentioned is something special Wii Fit makes up based on a random selection of a few balance tests. It can’t be all that scientific (mine has bounced up and down dramatically over my first 13 days, from a high of 41 to a low of 20), but it does reveal general trends. My average Wii Fit Age so far is 32.9, which is definitely higher than my real age of 26.
My biggest goal is to improve my posture enough that I can stand up and walk around like a normal human being without a blatant nerd hunch. My height is 5’8″ and a bit, and I’d like to imagine I can stretch up to 5’9″ with enough Wii Fit action. I’d also like to improve my balance and strength, and get down to 150 lbs. (my BMI is on the high end of normal).
Of course, I’ll keep you up to date on my progress right here. Next week I’ll give a more detailed breakdown of the game’s various exercises, and my experiences with them so far. I’ll also post some pictures for reference.

Got something to say? Go for it!
