Rovio’s “Mighty Eagle” Peter Vesterbacka has not taken the harsh words of Nintendo President Satoru Iwata lying down like some kind of sleepy green pig.
Instead, the man running the show at the studio behind iOS phenomenon Angry Birds has politely pointed out that Nintendo is “worried” about the encroachment of smartphone gaming into the industry.
Iwata’s claim came during his keynote at March’s GDC. It was there that he complained cell phones and their cheap apps were devaluing games. Vesterbacka’s answer? “If I was trying to sell a $49 pieces of plastic to people then yes, I’d be worried too.”
